What is a Trial Tech?

Responsibilities of a Trial Tech

A trial technician, also known as a trial presentation specialist or hos seat operator, is a professional who specializes in the use of technology in the courtroom. They are responsible for setting up and maintaining the technical equipment and software used to present evidence, exhibits and depositions in a trial. They also work closely with legal teams to ensure that the technology is used in a way that is clear and effective for the jury and the judge. This may include things like creating and displaying visual aids, preparing and displaying digital documents and videos, and troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise during the trial. They are a key member of the trial team, who helps the legal team to present the evidence in a clear, accurate and compelling manner.
